Mac's version is a bit on the sleeker side, as with most things Apple, and it's still in its beta stage. It was developed by Rarlab and is only available in a trial version. So keep that in mind if you're thinking about downloading this for Mac; it's not a free program and will have limited features in its trial.

What RAR for Mac Is and What It Does

This is a compression tool, pure and simple. It was created so that users could take larger files, create libraries and archive them as compressed files, in order to take up a lot less space on their computers. So that's all this program offers for Mac. However, it doesn't have the added benefits of dealing with some rare file types (for Mac at least), like ZIP, JAR and more.
